“This is the first time, and I am sure it will become a tradition in order to spread Serbian culture. It is the most important element of our survival and existence. Throughout history, the Serb people have produced great names in science, and in modern circumstances, great athletes like Novak Đoković”, said the President Dodik.

In his address to those present in the Tekelijanum Palace, the President of Srpska emphasized that unfortunately for the Serbian people, there are many who do not want to tell the truth and see the Serbs as a problem.

“If it was not for the Serbian Orthodox Church, our identity would have been lost, when everything was aimed at us disappearing, back in the days of the Ottoman Empire. When they came from the west, they wanted the same thing”, said the President Dodik and emphasized that the Serbs are still fighting against it today, but that the unity of the Church and the people is the only barrier to it.

“The Serbs are defending their right to survival. They were stopped by the one who wanted to rule over them. The Germans showed hostility towards the Serb people, which was seen in the First and the Second World War, and that Germany played a key role in breaking up Yugoslavia”, it was pointed out by the President Dodik.

The President of the Republic said that the last war caused the greatest damage to the Serbs, because in many countries they do not even have the status of a national minority, pointing out the difficult status of the Serbs in Croatia.

“The Serbs in the Federation of BiH are exposed to pressure and problems. 150,000 Serbs were expelled from Sarajevo. They had to leave everything to others. Now they are trying to put all the blame on the Serbs”, said the President Dodik.

Even today, said the President of Srpska, on the story of the high representative, the Germans send their person, who thought he could impose laws even though he has no legitimacy, nor a decision of the Security Council, but he is already imposing laws and trying to persecute those who do not respect his decisions.

“Today, Serbs have two Serbian states – Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. We are present in numerous other countries, and I would also like to thank the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. His cooperation with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić opened the way for the best and historic cooperation between the Serbs and Hungarians”, said the President Dodik and emphasized that the fact that such a manifestation of culture, which he wished would last for a long time, is being opened and supportive.

The President Dodik said that during the last 10 years, under the leadership of Aleksandar Vučić, the best cooperation between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska was achieved, and a new page of history was opened.

“Now they are inventing a new story. They are trying to declare the idea of unity and gathering as aggression. The Serbian world is our culture, Orthodoxy, religion, script, language and Patron Saint”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.

The President Dodik also pointed to the historical fact that the Serbs were always killed on the biggest holidays because the Serbs were gathered around the hearth, as was the case in the villages around Bratunac and Srebrenica when Muslims killed women and children at home threshold in the past Defence War.

“Defense is our culture. The Republic of Srpska will remain present in the sense of sponsoring this event in Hungary. Our love for you is no less than your love for Srpska. Our strength is love. We in Srpska live the Serbian national identity. We do not go to other houses and ask only that they do not touch us. That they do not touch our churches, graves and Patron Saint”, said the President Dodik and declared the “Serbian Days” event open.

The manifestation in the Tekelijanum Palace shall be attended by representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, i.e. the Eparchy of Budim as the event’s bearers, including Bishop Lukijan, the Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska Željko Budimir, the Minister without Portfolio in the Government of Serbia in charge of the Diaspora Đorđe Milićević, the BiH Ambassador to Hungary Biljana Gutić Bjelica, President of the Self-Government of the Serbs in Hungary Vera Pejić Sutor, representatives of Hungarian institutions and numerous guests and dignitaries.
